Multidisciplinary Design:

Harmonizing design in today’s society, technology and business.

The School of Creative Industries, Telkom University will host the 3rd Bandung Creative Movement 2016. The aim of BCM 2016 is to facilitate together designers, academics, scholars, researchers, government, associations, entrepreneurs, and communities to share & learn about the role of designer regarding the development of design science. Design as a form of knowledge cannot stand alone exclusively. Collaborative effort with other knowledge is necessary in order to make design extend its benefits for humans. We are pleased to invite you to submit your paper from diverse disciplines related to design.

Conference Topics
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:


Design is a process of translating ideas into conceptions to match needs and create a better life. Furthermore, it transforms a concept into ideas required, feasible, and valuable. Sub-topics covered in this track include (but are not limited to):

Good designs start with the needs of users in which numerous consideration must be taken into account on design process as a problem solver in a society life. Design and society have a reciprocal correlation wherein the society is able to stimulate innovative designs. Sub-topics covered in this track include (but are not limited to):

  • Communication


New ways of making human activities more easily, efficiently and looks aesthetically better. The technology that applies interactive computer elements and create digital fusion to communicate with the audience. Sub-topics covered in this track include (but are not limited to):

Innovation in a form of design is the key to success. Design Innovation is reconsidering the present phenomena to inspire a new future.

Business, Management, and Entrepreneurial

Emphasizing designs as a priority brings creativity into organizations and increases the opportunity to lead the global market and the competition. Designs can facilitate companies to engage dialogue with their customers, thereby it enables the companies to be more efficiently innovate by reducing the risks.

Instructions for Submission

Please submit your full paper to bcm@tcis.telkomuniversity.ac.id. Papers should be up to 8 pages maximum, including abstracts and references, and should follow to the conference paper submission guidelines. The guidelines and format of full paper can be downloaded here [full paper template].

Review Process
All submissions will be peer reviewed by a panel of reviewers. Authors will be notified of acceptance decision of their full submission by 17 September 2016.

All selected paper will be compiled into International Proceeding with ISBN.

Paper policy

For each paper, at least one author must register and attend the conference. Otherwise, the author(s) would not get the certificate of presenter.

Registration Fee

Registration fee for presenters: IDR 1.500.000
Registration fee for participants: IDR 500.000

For selected papers, will be charged extra if accepted in  Scopus or Google scholar or crossref indexed journals.*
